Connecting Okendo
Last updated: April 17, 2026
Okendo connects via its REST API. You provide two values from your Okendo dashboard — a User ID and a Merchant REST API Key — and BetterReviews pulls your historical reviews plus any new ones via webhooks.
Before you start
You need:
- An active Okendo account with admin access
- The ability to view / create API credentials in Okendo (usually an owner-level permission)
Both platforms can run in parallel during migration. You don’t need to uninstall Okendo before connecting.
1. Grab your Okendo credentials
In your Okendo dashboard go to Settings → Integrations (not the public-API-key area — the merchant REST API lives under Integrations). Copy:
- User ID — your Okendo account identifier
- Merchant REST API Key — the full key value
2. Connect in BetterReviews
Open Settings → Integrations in BetterReviews and find the Okendo card.

Click Connect. A modal asks for both values:
- Paste the User ID
- Paste the Merchant REST API Key
- Click Connect

3. Watch the import
We immediately start pulling historical reviews:
- A “Connected” badge appears on the Okendo card with your Okendo account reference
- A progress banner shows imported count
- The Reviews tab populates incrementally — refresh during the import to see new rows
You can close the page and come back later; the import runs in the background.
4. Verify
Once done:
- Check Reviews — the total should roughly match your Okendo count (a handful of edge cases like deleted-on-source may not import)
- Spot-check a few reviews — are photos present, dates preserved, products matched correctly?
- Your product page widget should show your imported reviews alongside any new BetterReviews-collected ones
If something looks off, email us with your Okendo store URL.
Ongoing sync
After the initial import, we subscribe to Okendo webhooks for ongoing updates. New reviews appear in BetterReviews within a minute of landing on Okendo. Merchant replies added on Okendo after the initial import currently do not sync through the webhook (that path is initial-bulk-only); let us know if this matters for your migration.
Disconnecting
Settings → Integrations → Okendo → Disconnect. Reviews already imported stay in BetterReviews. Disconnecting only stops the flow of new reviews from Okendo.
If you want to also remove imported reviews, use bulk delete from the Reviews tab after disconnecting.
