End User Terms of Service

These End User Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your submission of reviews through BetterReviews on a merchant's Shopify store. BetterReviews is operated by BetterReviews Daniel Studziński, a sole proprietorship registered in Poland with a registered address at al. Solidarności 68/121, 00-240 Warsaw, Poland ("BetterReviews", "we", "us", "our"). How we handle your personal data is described in our End User Privacy Policy. Merchants using BetterReviews are governed by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Definitions

  • "Merchant" means the Shopify store through which you submit a review. The Merchant decides whether to collect reviews and how they are displayed.
  • "Service" means the review collection, display, and moderation tools BetterReviews provides to the Merchant, including the review form and the AI-guided review conversation.
  • "Review Content" means everything you submit through the Service, including star ratings, titles, text, photos, videos, conversation messages, and recorded video answers.

2. Acceptance

By starting or continuing a review through the Service, you agree to these Terms. This includes selecting a star rating to begin an AI-guided review conversation. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not submit a review.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to submit a review.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to record a video answer, or have the authority to consent on behalf of every person who appears in the recording.
  • We do not verify age. By continuing, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Review Content and Licence

  • You retain ownership of your Review Content.
  • By submitting Review Content, you grant the Merchant and BetterReviews a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, format, and analyze it.
  • This licence covers the collection and display of reviews. It does not cover separate marketing or advertising use of your Review Content. A Merchant that wishes to use your Review Content in advertising or other marketing should obtain your permission first, and you may refuse.

5. Recorded Video Answers

Some Merchants allow you to record a short video answer instead of typing. If you record one:

  • Recording uses your camera and microphone, and the recording may include your image, voice, and likeness.
  • We store the recording and transcribe your speech to help draft your written review.
  • A recorded video answer is not displayed on the Merchant's store. A video you choose to attach to your review is displayed with it.
  • Every identifiable person in the recording must have agreed to be recorded, unless you are the only person in it.
  • You may watch, re-record, or skip the recording before submitting it.

6. Prohibited Content

You must not submit Review Content that:

  • is fake or misleading, or that you were paid to write without disclosing it;
  • is unlawful, hateful, or harassing, or discloses another person's private information; or
  • you do not have the right to share.

7. Moderation and Removal

  • The Merchant may approve or reject your review. A rejected review is not displayed publicly but may be retained for compliance purposes.
  • To request removal of your review, contact the Merchant or email [email protected].

8. Privacy

Our End User Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process when you submit a review, how AI is used, who receives your data, how long it is kept, and how to exercise your rights.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
