Team access and the dashboard

The Team tab in BetterReviews (Settings → Team) is how you invite someone to the view-only dashboard at app.betterreviews.app. This is not the same as notification recipients — those addresses receive moderation and support emails; Team members sign in and look at store metrics.

Who this is for

Agencies and teammates who need to watch marketing-ready review volume, the review-request funnel, and credit usage across one or more stores — without access to the Shopify admin and without permission to change settings or invite anyone else.

Only a store owner or staff member in the Shopify app can send an invite. Viewers cannot invite.

Invite someone

1. Open BetterReviews in your Shopify admin
2. Go to Settings → Team
3. Enter their work email and send the invite

They receive a magic-link email from BetterReviews. The link expires in 15 minutes and can be used once. They click Open dashboard in the email, then Continue on the confirmation screen, and land on the dashboard signed in. If they were already signed in as a viewer for another store, the same steps add this store to their dashboard.

You can have up to 5 pending or active viewers per store. This cap is separate from the 5-address cap on notification recipients.

Invite limits

• 5 pending or active viewers per store
• 5 invites per hour and 20 per day per store
• 3 invite emails per destination per 24 hours (first invite and resends share this bucket)
• 3 sign-in emails per destination per 24 hours (separate from the invite bucket). A fourth request in the same day sends nothing; the sign-in page still shows the same confirmation either way.
• Resend of a pending invite: at most once every 10 minutes, and 3 lifetime sends (invite + resends + re-adds after revoke) per person per store
• Pending invites expire after 7 days
• One viewer account can hold at most 50 active store memberships

What they see

Per store: marketing-ready (AI-collected) review count, total reviews, approved reviews, average rating, a 30-day review-request funnel (sent → opened → clicked → started chat → submitted review), and credits used/left this cycle including auto-recharge on/off and the spend cap.

They do not see customer emails, review text, or conversation transcripts.

Numbers are computed on our servers at most once every 10 minutes per store, and every viewer of that store sees the same cached figures. Reloading the page does not refresh them; wait for the next 10-minute window.

Open dashboard

The same Team tab has Open dashboard, which signs the currently logged-in Shopify user into app.betterreviews.app for this store (SSO). That is a store-owner session, not a viewer session.

Remove access

Remove a member from the Team tab. Access is checked on every request; they lose the dashboard immediately, including any cached numbers. The row stays listed as Revoked so you can see who used to have access; re-inviting the same address counts against their 3 lifetime invites for your store.
